Paul’s professional and personal pursuits demonstrate a commitment to public service and advocacy. Through a community based outreach approach and a focus on substantive issues, he would bring an energetic, enthusiastic approach to the DC DSC At-Large Committeeman duties.
As a Ward 4 Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in Petworth, Paul helps his constituents better engage with District government agencies on policy and quality of life matters. Paul is a steering committee member of the Grassroots Planning Coalition which works closely with elected officials and policymakers on issues of equity, housing and affordability. He also Co-Chairs the Empower DC Ward 4 Committee.
Paul mediates at the Multi-Door Dispute Resolution Division of the District of Columbia Superior Court. He serves on the Board of Community Mediation DC, a nonprofit that provides District residents with access to high-quality conflict resolution services.
Paul has worked in budget oversight and municipal finance investment banking; underwriting infrastructure and capital improvements across the country.
Personally, Paul is a Portuguese speaker and a practitioner of Capoeira, an African-Brazilian folklore and martial art. Paul is a Finance and Business Administration graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.
